What are the engine options?
There are a few engine options available for the 2020 Cherokee. Standard is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that comes with 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Is more power needed? Then Jeep gives you the option of either a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horses and 239 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. All engines come with a smooth sailing nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on most trims, with all-wheel-drive as an available option. On the Trailhawk, all-wheel-drive comes standard.
What are some of the features?
Five trim levels are available for the Cherokee, and each comes with a ton of features. Kicking things off is the base Latitude, which comes with 17-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, 60/40-split-folding rear seatback, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the Latitude Plus brings consumers simulated leather inserts in the upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio, and passive keyless entry with push-button starting. Many options are available for the Cherokee, including dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a remote start. The Limited and the Overland add even more goodies, including leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, heated front seats, driver-seat memory functions, wood inserts, upgraded leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Finally, for hardcore off-roaders, the Trailhawk trim provides you with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels, tow hooks, and increased ground clearance.
What are some of the safety features?
Jeep works hard to ensure that you and your family are secure both on and off the road. Available is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection, which alerts you if another vehicle is traveling in one of your blind spots or while backing up. Also available is a full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, which uses radar to detect if your SUV is approaching another vehicle too quickly. If a collision is imminent, the driver will be alerted with an audible chime and visual warning. Finally, the available Electronic Stability Control System uses a ton of sensors and a four-wheel-drive system to help you maintain control of the vehicle during slippery conditions.
